As an optician, lens and eyewear maker, and co-inventor of smart eyewear technologies, the below provides a sampling of collaborative work alongside Declan Halpin and others. Declan and I purchased a Massachusetts-based family eyewear factory in 2010 after my mentor passed away, and we rebuilt it into an American-made eyewear brand called "lee allen eyewear". We had a great run and lots of learnings; the factory was later acquired by a private party overseas. After this, we went on to build another business co-inventing, designing, and prototyping smart eyewear products and advanced visual technologies alongside an electronics company for a number of years.
On very rare occasions, I'll create a custom frame for a client. I will consider advising or consulting for visual technology / eye care companies. My main focus is now building and helping to transform visual healthcare companies, interim-executive work and board advisory.

Smart Eyewear
While building "lee allen eyewear", Declan Halpin and I started a smart eyewear R&D consultancy called "Polarity Projects" -- helping companies design and build new smart eyewear products from 2014-2017. We co-invented a number of novel patents in the smart eyewear space, though due to the confidentiality and respect for our clients, much of this work is not public.
A sample of mid-to-late generation smart eyewear designs is below. Integrations included voice activated audio and embedded smart display technologies.
